ECTA and UNM-Taos are cohosting a day of trail maintenance on the El Nogal Nature trail. UNM-Taos has graciously offered to adopt the El Nogal Nature trail. The trail is 1.1 miles long with little elevation gain. The workday is family-friendly and open to anyone and everyone!We will be meeting in the El Nogal Recreation Area parking lot (Devisadero TH) at 9 AM and we will be working until 4 PM.Please come prepared for a full day out in the field. Be sure to bring: food (including lunch), plenty of water, layers, rain gear, sturdy hiking shoes, long pants, gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). ECTA will provide hard hats and tools.The work will consist of maintaining the tread (the trail where your feet walk), cutting back encroaching vegetation, closing off social trails, and picking up trash. TSVI and ECTA will be hosting a volunteer work day to maintain the William's Lake trail, which TSVI has graciously offered to adopt. This work day is open to the public and anyone and everyone are warmly invited to join!We will be meeting in the Phoenix parking lot at 9 AM and working until 4 PM.The work will mainly consist of improving or constructing drainage features in areas where the trail is holding water, and other tread work.
