Location: Enchanted Circle (exact locations TBD)
Cost: Free!
Prerequisites: First Aid/CPR Certification (must be valid at time of course)

What youโll learn
Presented with our agency partners, the 2-day course discusses the basics of bucking (cutting logs that have fallen across a trail) with a crosscut saw and proper axe use. We will not be going over felling (cutting down upright trees).
There will be an opportunity for evaluations to become certified to the USFS standard, a must for using crosscut saws on Forest Service land.ย A certification is not guaranteed and will depend on your performance and skill.
Organizations that wish to get involved with the Adopt-a-Trail program are strongly encouraged to attend.
Agenda
Day 1: We will spend the first day in the classroom learning the basic concepts of crosscut saw and axe use and safety standards.
Day 2: We will spend the second day in the field practicing the concepts learned on day one and performing evaluations.
