🚨 Call to action! 🚨 We need YOUR voices to tell NMDOT that US 64 needs:πŸ—£οΈ A separated, multi-use path from Hwy 150 to the High BridgeπŸ—£οΈ An 8 foot shoulder the entire length of the project, with at least 6 feet of a usable shoulder for cyclists and pedestriansWhy should the state invest in cycling and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure?πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ People are more likely to be physically active when their communities have combined different approaches to make activity easier, such as creating access to walking and biking paths.πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ New Mexico has a high fatality rate for pedestrians and cyclists making it one of the most dangerous states in the nation.🏚️ Designated multi-use paths would further increase community connection in the Enchanted Circle. For more information on the project or to submit a comment visit www.dot.nm.gov/event/tres-piedras-to-taos/#trailsconnectus #enchantedcircletrails #enchantedcircle #nmoutdoors #nmoutside #nmtrue #trails #nmtrails #nmtrue ...

A little rain won't deter our volunteers! In fact, maintaining trails in the rain is a great way to see how and if water is draining off of the trail 🌧️Thank you to:⛏️ Southwest Nordic Center for improving drainage and clearing loose rock off of the Bull of the Woods equestrian trail.⛏️ Taos Pro Ski Patrol for improving drainage on the Long Canyon trail.Want to play in the mud with us? πŸ“’ Call to action! πŸ“’ Tell NMDOT that US 64 needs a multi-use path and 8' shoulders. We need YOUR help advocating for safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists along US 64 between the Blinking Light and Tres Piedras.Let the NMDOT know that we would like to see:🚲 An 8-foot shoulder the entire length of the project, with at least 6 feet of a usable shoulder for pedestrians and cyclistsπŸšΆπŸ½β€β™€οΈ A separated bicycle and pedestrian path from NM 150 to the High BridgeWhy do we need these improvements?πŸ—Έ They would provide critical safety infrastructure: for ten years New Mexico had the highest pedestrian fatalities in the nation and cyclist fatalities doubled from 2024 to 2025. πŸ—Έ The need has already been identified in the NMDOT New Mexico Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan.πŸ—Έ They would provide safe, alternative transportation for local commuters and recreationists. For more information on the project or to submit a comment visit www.dot.nm.gov/event/tres-piedras-to-ta#trailsconnectuse#enchantedcircletrailsr#enchantedcirclei#nmoutdoorsd#nmoutsidet#nmtruem#trailsr#nmtrailsr#nmtruemtrue ...
