Looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate Father's Day? Celebrate by coming out and giving back to YOUR public lands. ECTA andU.S. Forest Service - Carson National Forestorest will be conducting Phase 2 of our El Nogal Bridge Rearrangement project, which will consist of deconstructing and then reconstructing the bridge in its new alignment. Anyone is welcome, but we're particularly interested in folks with carpentry skills and who can volunteer their own power tools (impact drivers, sawzalls, etc.) to supplement our own.When: June 15th, 9 AM - 4 PMWhere: El Nogal Recreation AreaSpace is limited on this project and we'll be signing folks up on a first-come, first-serve basis. We'd like to give a warm welcome to ECTA's YCC Crew, formed in partnerRocky Mountain Youth Corps - New MexicoNew MexicU.S. Forest Service - Carson National Forestnal Forest 👏 Yesterday, ECTA and trails and recreation staff from the Carson met the crew on the Gavilan trail to teach them the principles behind effective and sustainable trail maintenance.The crew learned all about:⛏ Switchback maintenance⛏ Maintaining water crossings⛏ How to implement drainage features like knicks and rolling grade dips⛏ How to maintain trail corridor based on different types of trail usersOver the next eight weeks the crew will be chipping away at some much-needed trails projects across the Carson National Forest.Be sure to give them a hello and a big thank you when you see them this summer! ...
