Thank you to Mark, Andy, Naomi, and Andi, four volunteers from the American Hiking Society who joined us on a weeklong backcountry hitch on the Lost Lake trail 🙌These amazing folks traveled from across the country, backpacked in gear and tools, and spent seven days camped at Lost Lake.Over the course of the week we:⛏️ Widened 1,100 feet of trail⛏️ Reestablished 20 feet of trail that was buried under a scree slide⛏️ Cut back encroaching vegetation over 1.7 miles of trail⛏️ Built 5 junk walls (small rock retaining walls) to reduce erosion and stop the trail from narrowing⛰️ Summitted Wheeler Peak!#AmericanHiking #americanhikingsociety #trailsconnectus #enchantedcircletrails #EnchantedCircle #nmoutdoors #nmoutside #nmtrue #trails #nmtrails #nmtrue #volunteer ...
