Phase 2 of the El Nogal Bridge Project is complete! We laughed, we cried, we spontaneously harmonized old commercial jingles, and questioned the decisions of the original bridge designer. This phase of the bridge project consisted of deconstructing a wing of the bridge and reconstructing it to better align with our 330-foot reroute of the South Boundary trail that was completed last fall. Thank you to the U.S. Forest Service - Carson National Forest and the volunteers who showed up to help make this day a success 🙌Now we're on to the final phase of the project: naturalizing the old alignment by revegetating and rehabbing the old trail. ALERT: Look closely at this map. The dark green and orange areas could be UP FOR SALE according to the Senate Reconciliation Bill currently being drafted.They are saying it is to address the housing crisis. They are full of sh*t.Better zoning, infill development, higher-density housing, tax incentives, and the like would be more effective than selling off our watersheds for more sprawl. There's still space on our El Nogal Bridge Rearrangement Project tomorrow!This project is about more than just rearranging a bridge, it's about promoting healthy watersheds, supporting sustainable trails, and protecting sensitive riparian areas. Come on out tomorrow and give back to YOUR public lands.Phase 2 of our El Nogal Bridge Rearrangement project will consist of deconstructing and then reconstructing the western bridge in its new alignment.
