One week until our fun day working on the Deer Creek Trail! If you're looking to spend as much as time as possible outside before the snow flies, here's your chance! ☀️ Please email carel@enchantedcircletrails.org if you plan on attending ☀️Details:☀️ When: Sunday, October 5th at 9 AM (folks may come and go as they need, there's no requirement to stay the entirety of the workday)☀️ Where: Meet at the Columbine Canyon trailhead at the southern end of the Columbine Campground☀️ What to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance! Work will consist of using pick mattocks, McLeods, and shovels to bench (widen) narrow, erosive sections of the trail. The hike into the worksite is about 2.1 miles and is a gentle but steady uphill climb. Expect to hike 5-6 miles roundtrip. We'll be taking the Columbine Canyon trail (8,000') for 1.5 miles before turning on to the Deer Creek trail (~8,300') and continuing on the Deer Creek trail for 0.6 miles until we reach the beginning of the work site (~8,750').☀️ What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay).
