Have you been meaning to volunteer this summer but just couldn't find the time? You're in luck, we have one more opportunity for you!Join ECTA and Wild Earth Llama Adventures for the last volunteer day of the season, you won't want to miss it.**Please email carel@enchantedcircletrails.org if you plan on attending**Details:📆 When: Wednesday, October 22nd at 10 AM📍 Where: Meet at the entrance to the Columbine Canyon Campground⛏ What to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance! Work will consist of using pick mattocks, McLeods, and shovels to improve drainage on the trail and of using loppers and hand saws to cut back encroaching vegetation.The hike into the worksite is about 2 miles and is a gentle but steady uphill climb. We'll be working our way up the trail from that point. 2 days until we get to spend the day under the beautiful fall foliage on the Deer Creek Trail, and please don't forget to email carel@enchantedcircletrails.org if you're joining us! Details:☀️ When: Sunday, October 5th at 9 AM (folks may come and go as they need, there's no requirement to stay the entirety of the workday)☀️ Where: Meet at the Columbine Canyon trailhead at the southern end of the Columbine Campground☀️ What to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance! Work will consist of using pick mattocks, McLeods, and shovels to bench (widen) narrow, erosive sections of the trail.The hike into the worksite is about 2.1 miles and is a gentle but steady uphill climb. Expect to hike 5-6 miles roundtrip. We'll be taking the Columbine Canyon trail (8,000') for 1.5 miles before turning on to the Deer Creek trail (~8,300') and continuing on the Deer Creek trail for 0.6 miles until we reach the beginning of the work site (~8,750').☀️ What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay).
