Wednesday is the day! You won't want to miss this volunteer trail maintenance day with Outside Outfitters and ECTA on the Lost Lake trail ⛏ Please email carel@enchantedcircletrails.org if you plan on coming. Details: ☀️ When: Wednesday July 23rd 9 AM - 3 PM ☀️ Where: Meet at the Middle Fork Lake Trailhead parking area on US Forest Road 58(36.612391, -105.409164)☀️ What to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance in the gorgeous subalpine forest just outside of Red River! Work will mostly consist of maintaining switchbacks on the trail by improving drainage. We'll be using tools like pick mattocks, McLeods, and shovels. The trail starts at about 10,000' and the switchbacks continue at a steady climb for about two miles up to 10,700'. We'll be hiking anywhere from 2 to 4 miles roundtrip. ☀️ What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). Bring a day pack with plenty of food and water, sunscreen, layers, and rain gear (it's officially monsoon season!). *We will be on the trail all day and not returning to the cars for lunch* ECTA will provide the hard hats and tools. #trailsconnectuse#enchantedcircletrailsn#enchantedcircled#nmoutdoorss#nmoutsided#nmtrue##adoptatrailn#trailse#trailmaintenancer#nmtrailsl#volunteeri#taosn#NewMexicol#trailbuildingt#getoutdoorsco #trailbuilding #getoutdoors ... Thank you to the Taos Community Foundation for coming out to continue our naturalizing project on Trail 18 🙌 We went out in the spring and started narrowing parts of the trail from double track to single track. And last week we continued our efforts by spreading grass seed over those areas. It was a day of frolicking down the trail with hands full of grass seeds and embracing our inner woodland creatures.#trailsconnectus #enchantedcircletrails #enchantedcircle #nmoutdoors #nmoutside #nmtrue #adoptatrail #trails #trailmaintenance #nmtrails #volunteer #taos #NewMexico #trailbuilding #getoutdoors ...
